Location: Juno Beach
Project Engineer, Thermal Management (remote)
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions.
Work Setting:
Remote;
Juno Beach, FL is preferred.
- Engineering experience (5+ years)
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET‑accredited program
- Expertise in thermal management for energy storage systems, including one or more of: hydronic HVAC, air‑cooled HVAC, battery heat generation/dissipation, or BESS design
- Experience with VRF, hydronic, and air‑side HVAC systems
- Experience with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters
- Experience with relevant safety standards: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, and applicable IFC/IBC sections
- Evaluate design aspects of major components for utility‑scale energy storage projects
- Prepare technical scopes of work for thermal management studies and designs for incorporation into contract documents
- Support projects from conception through commissioning, including on‑site commissioning activities
- Provide engineering guidance to project teams and oversee external Engineers of Record
- Collaborate with suppliers on equipment sizing, controls, technology compatibility, and integration
- Partner with multi‑disciplined teams on problem solving, system integration, and process improvement
- Identify value engineering opportunities and track emerging technologies
