Full‑Time Office/Project. Work Locations:
Reston, VA (home office) or Cheyenne, WY (long‑term assignment).
Act as the Area Superintendent for a large gas‑fired power generation facility in the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team. Lead a team of superintendents and craft professionals, supervise craft activities and subcontractor work, and coordinate project schedules, budgets, and quality.
Major Responsibilities- Receive assignments with clear goals and follow the process to complete them.
- Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
- Administer company policies that directly affect subordinate employees and recommend changes where needed.
- Supervise and/or direct craft activities, scheduling work, and reviewing completed work.
- Determine workforce requirements and coordinate area operational plans.
- Monitor tool and equipment usage on the site and oversee field material requisitions.
- Ensure construction operations and subcontractors comply with specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Work with Construction Field Engineers and Foremen to interpret engineering and vendor documents.
- Oversee engineering solutions with subcontractors and craft professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university (or international equivalent), plus a minimum of 8‑10 years of relevant experience; or 12‑14 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of construction engineering practices across all disciplines.
- Experience installing package turbines or similar equipment.
- Planning, scheduling, procurement, and contracting experience.
- Commitment to safety, environment, and health with a zero‑accident program focus.
- Experience in civil construction of large projects.
- Understanding of performance management and production scheduling.
- Advanced communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Cost management, estimating, and forecast development skills.
- Supervision experience of 5+ years in direct‑hire, field‑level work.
- Familiarity with North American Building Trades (Union) direct‑hire craft is desirable.
- Prior experience supervising installation of light‑duty gas turbines or similar equipment.
