Description
Ledcor is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our telecommunications team. In this role, you will work with project managers, engineers, and field teams to support timely, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery through tracking project production, cost and schedule analysis, and reporting to the business and stakeholders. This position offers flexible work options including a mix of work from home, in-office, and on project sites.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Cultivate a thorough understanding of the applicable project/program by examining contract provisions, scope of work, estimate, and risk profile.
- Collaborate with a Project Controls Manager to develop a Project Controls Plan (PCP) and build out the baseline control budget.
- Assist the Sr. Project Controls Specialist and Planner/Scheduler to prepare the project/program schedule with input from the client, engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Attend weekly meetings with Construction to update progress and provide inputs for the Planner/Scheduler to publish three-week lookaheads and month-end reporting packages.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of project/program progress and provide information required for timely invoicing.
- Report on Cost Performance Index (CPI), Cost Variance (CV), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Schedule Variance (SV), and other performance metrics used to monitor projects/programs.
- Update and maintain the Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) using standard Estimate-to-Complete methodology.
- Monitor and coordinate with Operations, Commercial, and Finance to manage changes to baseline quantities, scope, cost, and schedule.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in the telecom construction industry.
- Familiarity with earned value concepts and key project performance metrics (CPI, CV, SPI, SV).
- Familiarity with Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) forecasting.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, named ranges, tables, lookups, IF statements, data validation, conditional formatting, name manager, drop-down lists).
- Basic knowledge of InEight or Primavera P6 is an asset.
- Experience with developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) is an asset.
- Remote (work-from-home) start with transition to full-time in-office role based in Florence, KY when the new location is operational.
- Travel up to 25% to Ledcor offices or job sites is expected.
