In this role, you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities Work Planning & Packaging- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
- Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
- Reviews and approves inspection test plans.
- Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
- Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with rotating and static equipment.
- Familiarity with basic testing and preservation requirements for electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with control valves.
- Familiarity with Smart Completions is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
- Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
- Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and Bechtel database applications.
- Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
- Basic ability to utilize the Team Works automation suite as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
- Knowledge of Project Technical Requests (PTR) for routing and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
