Position Title:
Applications Engineer – Electronic Miniature Circuit Breakers
Location:
Remote (United States)
Industry: Smart Infrastructure – Electrical Products Business Unit
Responsibilities- Pre- / post-sales support of the electronic miniature circuit breakers (MCB)
- Support the development of technical requirement specifications for residential customer applications
- Field testing reviews and feedback
- Evaluation and documentation of field nonconformance diagnostics to support future product / solutions development needs
- Data collection and analysis of field reports / nonconformance through digitalization
- Challenge R&D development path and product qualification requirements to assure safety
- Challenge Product Management roadmap development and prioritization to assure alignment with product improvements required to eliminate field nonconformance
- Participate in and lead industry standards committees in USA and Globally
- Identification and creation of applicable application instructions and white papers
- Development and tracking of appropriate KPI measures of field improvements for electronic miniature circuit breakers through the use of appropriate digital tools to improve insights; coordination of these measures across applicable departments
- Consulting with customers, installers, application engineering experts and internal sales division to address critical quality features
- Develop training process for internal employees and customers
- Strong contribution to market introduction, field tests & training
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- 3+ years of successful experience in circuit protection and power distribution or related field
- Ability to travel regionally and internationally up to 20% of the time
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel
- Knowledge of data analytics tools such as Python, Knime, Tableau, MATLAB, and Minitab
- Basic knowledge of electronics laboratory equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, power supplies, function generator, soldering iron, precision hand tools)
- Eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship required now or in the future
- Strong background in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Demonstrated ability to apply broad knowledge of the field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments
- Ability to collaborate with and influence cross‑functional product development teams (Product Management, R&D, QA, Field Engineers)
- Prior experience in electrical systems installation, including low voltage (480 V ac and below) electrical and communication networks
- Experience in technical support and/or customer service
- Understanding of NEC and UL Standards
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills; ability to develop and deliver compelling content for internal and external audiences
- Consistent track record of innovative thinking
- Fluency in English; basic working understanding of German or Spanish preferred

The pay range for this position is $83,966 - $143,942 annually. The actual wage offered may vary depending on budget, candidate experience, skills, and location.
