VDC Structural Steel Detailer - REMOTE

RealREPP is partnering with a well‑established total building solutions provider to hire an experienced VDC Structural Steel Detailer. The position is open at regional offices (La Mirada, CA; Columbus, OH; Charlotte, NC) or remotely.

• Interpret architectural & engineering drawings, specs, and other documentation
• Have an understanding of how steel is involved in all aspects of construction
• Create 3D models with Advance Steel
• Produce fabrication packages for structural & miscellaneous steel projects
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of drawings
• Ensure compliance with all codes (IFC, UFC, CBC, etc.)
• Complete 3D model checks
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members
• Run multiple projects concurrently

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting (preferred)
• 3+ years of detail/design experience
• Knowledge of steel detailing standard approval process
• Knowledge of steel fabrication techniques, welding procedures, and installation processes
• Proficiency with Advance Steel, Tekla, or SDS2 required
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and BIM
  360
• In-depth understanding of AISC codes & AWS
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed
• Strong organizational skills

• $25–$50 per hour (range based on experience)
