Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a highly motivated, well‑rounded Geologist I with an interest in the geotechnical field to join our Water Resources Dam and Levee Design group in Fort Worth, Texas
. This is a great role for a new graduate or upcoming August 2026 graduate.
- Perform site investigations including data collection, borehole logging, classification of soil and rock materials, oversight of piezometer and well installations, pump and packer tests, study of exposed strati graphic and structural relationships, and mapping of geologic units.
- Conduct geologic analyses as part of a team and present results in a written report.
- Evaluate seismic impacts on project sites and prepare fault studies.
- Utilize technical procedures and tools in strati graphic and structural analyses of subsurface geologic units.
- Interface with internal and external clients, landowners and regulatory agencies, developing strong working relationships through project interaction.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or Engineering Geology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in all types of weather and field conditions.
- Regular travel with overnight stays and oversee field investigations for a wide variety of projects.
