Position: Senior Architect / Planner - Facilities Master Planning
Freese and Nichols is seeking Senior Architect / Planner - Facilities Master Planning in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you will lead facilities master planning efforts that help clients define how their facilities and supporting systems can grow and evolve over time and build a clear, actionable path to get there. You will also develop and mentor a team while spearheading business development initiatives.

What You'll Do

* Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of facilities, master planning projects that focus on short and long-range needs and priorities

* Define and communicate the system view of a facilities master plan, connecting facility needs to the broader supporting infrastructure and operational realities

* Translate client goals into practical, phased recommendations that guide near-, mid-, and long-term decisions

* Facilitate planning conversations with stakeholders to align on what the organization needs its facilities to accomplish in the future

* Develop clear deliverables that help clients understand options, tradeoffs and timing so they can make confident investment decisions

* Coordinate with internal technical experts to align planning recommendations with technical feasibility, implementation approach and long-term resiliency

* Strengthen and grow facilities, master planning work by identifying opportunities and supporting pursuit efforts. Typical FNI Facilities Master Planning projects are in the public sector, such as municipalities, counties, state agencies, water districts and higher education.

* Mentor and guide team members to deliver consistent, high-quality planning work and improve how the team executes these plans over time

Qualifications

Required

* Bachelor's degree in architecture, Planning, Facilities Management or a related field

* Active Architect's License in the State of Texas

* 10+ years of experience in architectural practice with progressive responsibility leading complex planning and project delivery efforts

* Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop teams while coordinating work across multiple disciplines

* Strong client relationship, communication and judgment skills, with the ability to guide teams through complex decisions

Preferred

* Master's degree in a related field

* AICP certification

* Experience leading public-sector facilities master planning pursuits and long-range planning engagements

* Experience improving team delivery through standards, quality reviews and repeatable best practices

* Multi-state licensure or the ability to obtain licensure in additional states
