OverviewOur Client is a global professional services firm that provides engineering, design, construction, and consulting solutions across infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, energy, water, and government sectors.
As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will be an integral member of the design team counted on to assist in the performance of Structural analysis and design for our projects. You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Structural Lead, Structural Engineers, Structural Designers, and other disciplines. As part of this team, you will help develop design concepts, complete the analysis and design, and work with our Designers to get the structural requirements communicated on design documents and in the model.
It is expected that you are developing a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering, are gaining experience in multiple subject areas, and are learning how Structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines. You will be given as much responsibility as you are willing to take, and your opportunities for career growth will be limited only by your own motivation, capabilities, and attitude.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural engineering analysis and design under general supervision
- Apply and develop engineering judgment; evaluate and adapt techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Build proficiency in lateral analysis and design (wind/seismic) and applicable building codes
- Maintain strong attention to detail and quality control; check own work and review others’ calculations
- Manage workload and take ownership of assigned structural scope to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets
- Handle ill-defined tasks by taking initiative to define scope and determine required effort
- Identify scope changes and communicate/escalate as needed
- Collaborate with peers and senior engineers, seeking guidance when appropriate
- Deliver work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural engineering
- Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering
- Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
- Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
- Experience in semi-conductor industrial or general industrial facilities
