Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced E&C Engineer II to support large-scale dispatchable generation projects, including combustion turbine facilities near Mead, Colorado. This role will provide electrical engineering expertise throughout the design, construction, and execution phases of critical energy infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical engineering design, RFIs, submittals, NCRs, construction support, and EPC coordination within utility, power generation, or large industrial projects.

This engineer will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure projects are executed according to design specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical engineering support for large dispatchable generation and combustion turbine projects
  • Review and evaluate engineering drawings, technical submittals, studies, and analyses
  • Manage and respond to RFIs and NCRs
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved engineering design documents and specifications
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, construction teams, inspectors, and project managers during project execution
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of electrical engineering design conflicts and field issues
  • Communicate variances from company master specifications and support approval processes
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including operations, environmental, land rights, supply chain, and project controls teams
  • Assist with permitting and regulatory coordination involving county, state, and federal agencies
  • Support project cost, schedule, and documentation tracking activities
  • Participate in field construction support activities and onsite engineering reviews
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent experience
Required Experience
  • 9 years of electrical engineering experience
  • 3 years of experience supporting dispatchable generation projects, combustion turbines, or similar utility/power generation projects
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering design, construction support, and project execution
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with RFIs, NCRs, contract scope management, and field engineering support
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally in a matrixed project environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and work onsite during active construction
Preferred Skills
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Experience working with utilities, EPC contractors, or engineering consulting firms
  • Experience supporting large-frame combustion turbine projects
  • Familiarity with Project Wise, Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and SAP
