We serve those entities on an array of projects, offering consultation on technology utilization, design solutions for electrical and mechanical systems, public health systems, and equipment procurement and construction phase services.
DescriptionPerform a lead role in the detailed design of 69-500 kV transmission line projects, preparation of specifications, administrative functions, or field engineering related to assigned engineering, and projects under the supervision of the incumbent’s immediate supervisor or other designated professional engineer.
The incumbent must be competent to operate various design software tools (PLS CADD, MFAD, and LPile) required for performing the design and engineering assignments.
The incumbent must also possess an understanding of fundamental issues associated with developing engineering packages/construction documentation for the assigned project.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign of engineered systems of the largest size and highest complexity. Activities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Monitor the project construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Activities may include, but are not limited to, acting as Resident Engineer on small projects. Interpret plans and specifications and apply available information to satisfy all project design requirements. Maintain familiarity with appropriate engineering and construction codes and ensure compliance with all codes. Prepare and/or monitor construction schedules to ensure timely completion of the work.
Institute and direct changes to the work when required by differing site conditions. Conduct on-site design or investigation work to ensure the adequacy of methods. Receive, evaluate, and approve contractors’ invoices. Receive and inspect equipment to be installed on the project and approve for payment. Prepare reports and feasibility studies for submission to management. - Serve as a project engineer or project manager on assigned projects.
- Promote efficient flow of information and ensure complete and accurate record keeping.
- Be familiar with the Client/Company’s drawing system, design, construction standards, and applicable industry codes and practices.
- Conduct on-site design or investigation work to ensure the adequacy of the contractor’s methods.

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successfully completing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- A professional engineer’s license is desired (State of Florida).
- 7 - 10 years of experience in the engineering of related projects.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of industry and national codes and standards, including but not limited to NEC, Life Safety Code NFPA 101, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, and International Building Code.
- Experience with system design software, CADD, and Microsoft Office products required.
MUST HAVE PLS-CADD WORK EXPERIENCE
