Field Service Controls Engineer
Hilliard, OH. We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Controls Engineer to join our expanding team. This role involves significant travel to various manufacturing plants across the United States to assist in the commissioning, debugging, and modernization of automated equipment. You will also have the opportunity to work from home or support a local plant when not traveling. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to a nationwide project aimed at updating automation across various facilities.
ResponsibilitiesTravel to different plants across the country, spending 50%-75% of the time commissioning, conducting IO testing, and performing initial debug and motion testing.
Work from home when not traveling, focusing on AutoCAD electrical drawing edits and supporting the plant in Hamilton, OH.
Build panel enclosures, including mounting, drilling, and tapping holes.
Wire up motors, sensors, and switches.
Mount junction boxes and perform commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting.
Participate in training and development on PLC and HMI programming to learn equipment and processes.
Manage an expense account, keeping track of travel bookings and receipts for weekly reimbursement.
2+ years of experience building panel enclosures.
Experience with commissioning, IO testing, and initial debugging processes.
Hands‑on experience and a strong interest in practical, hands‑on roles.
Strong understanding of components such as servos, including mounting and installation.
Ability to perform drawing edits in AutoCAD Electrical.
Strong understanding of NFPA standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Some familiarity with Studio 5000, though programming from scratch is not required.
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time to various plants across the US, with 80% of travel occurring Monday morning through Friday, and occasional weekend travel.
The role involves on‑site, hands‑on work at manufacturing plants across the United States. When not traveling, there is flexibility to work from home and support a local plant. The position requires a significant amount of travel, primarily during weekdays, with occasional travel extending into weekends.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.
