About the role
Balfour Beatty Regional Civils is proud to be delivering a major overhead line infrastructure project through a joint venture partnership with our Power T&D business, supporting the UK’s growing energy and transmission network. As part of this high-profile programme of works, we are looking to recruit an experienced Sub Agent to join our team based in Bristol.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for a driven civil engineering professional to play a key role in the safe and successful delivery of complex infrastructure works within the power and utilities sector. Working within a collaborative joint venture environment, you will be involved in coordinating site operations, driving programme delivery, managing subcontractors, and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental performance.
Whatyou'll be doing
- Supporting the planning and delivery of civils works on overhead line projects
- Managing site operations to ensure safety, quality, programme, and commercial targets are achieved
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Assisting with short-term programming, method statements, and risk assessments
- Monitoring progress and reporting on project performance
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with Balfour Beatty standards and procedures
- Building strong relationships with client and JV stakeholders
- Proven experience in a Sub Agent or Site Engineer role within civil engineering
- Experience in overhead line, power, utilities, or infrastructure projects (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and health & safety practices
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- SMSTS and CSCS (Manager level)
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a joint venture environment.
