Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, hybrid role for a Product Engineer based in Zeeland, MI, with flexibility for some remote work. The Product Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing new products, contributing to research and development (R&D) initiatives, and ensuring innovative solutions meet customer needs. Additional responsibilities include conducting analyses to improve product performance, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and effectively communicating technical concepts to stakeholders.
EssentialJob Functions
- Apply new technologies to develop products that solve customer needs.
- Broad understanding of engineering principles
- Take a concept from idea phase through to production launch.
- Develop and execute testing plans for novel concepts.
- Apply tools like DFMEA, DVP&R, Cost Estimates, and work within a stage‑gate process.
- Collaborate within cross‑functional teams to meet project deliverables.
- Embrace the iterative nature of R&D, knowing when to pause or persevere.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 0-3+ years experience with new product development.
- Familiarity with CAD software (Solid Works preferred) and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and curiosity.
- Effective communication and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks independently.
- Familiarity with injection molding and extrusions; experience with glass or building materials a plus.
- Oracle or ERP system experience a plus.
