The School of Informatics, Computing, and Cyber Systems (SICCS) offers undergraduate and graduate degrees with approximately 60 faculty, 1,200 undergraduate, and 500 graduate students, emphasizing student‑centered teaching, collaborative research, and partnerships with local and national organizations.

Northern Arizona University seeks a part‑time faculty member in SICCS for teaching and service in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering. The temporary faculty pool is open for one academic year (August–May). Positions are filled as needed based on enrollment and funding, often on short notice. Applicants who are not selected within the current academic year may reapply in future semesters.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
• Special areas include Internet of Things, embedded systems, electronic circuits and devices, control systems, and communication systems.

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, with 3 to 4 years of industry experience; OR
• A combination of education, experience, and training that is equivalent to the above.

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level.
• Experience with modern pedagogical practices and tools.
• Industry experience in software or systems engineering.
• Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Course development expertise.
• Ability to teach in computer science.

Anticipated compensation is $2,000 per credit unit, commensurate with candidate’s qualifications and related experience.
