Description

The Electrical Engineer position is based at our Fenton, MO office or fully remote. Arch Key Solutions is one of the nation's largest privately‑held specialty trade installation and integrated facility service companies. Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare detailed electrical engineering permit drawings and construction installation documents to support field execution.
  • Develop conceptual designs, sketches, and value engineering ideas to support project managers and estimators during planning and preconstruction.
  • Prepare electrical calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation throughout all phases of construction.
  • Under the supervision of a professionally licensed electrical engineer, develop, review, and validate engineering studies including arc flash, short circuit, overcurrent protective device coordination, duct bank ampacity, load, lighting, and power factor correction.
  • Coordinate with vendors and review shop drawings to model accurate, fully constructible electrical systems, including equipment, conduit, and cable tray, within Revit.
  • Participate in electrical construction and design‑related training.
  • Adhere to company engineering standards and maintain strict QA/QC procedures for all deliverables.
  • Recommend improvements to design standards, workflows, and procedures, responding to design questions, resolving issues, and issuing plan revisions as required.
  • Stay current with new electrical and safety codes, materials, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Lead small to mid‑size projects as assigned and provide technical guidance to other designers and engineers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of local building energy codes and standards, including developing, reviewing, and coordinating drawings for energy code compliance, evaluating lighting fixtures and control systems, utilizing energy compliance software, and advising project managers on compliance strategies.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, foremen, project teams, specialty contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Support design team members as needed while upholding the company’s core values.
  • Consistently make decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
  • Utilize LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promote and model the Company mission, vision and values through sound ethical business practices, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and providing high‑quality services to clients, subcontractors, co‑workers, suppliers, and the public.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
  • EIT/EI certification or PE license; ability to sit for the Electrical PE exam within 12 years if not yet licensed.
  • 35 years of experience in electrical facilities power design, including lighting and receptacle layouts, circuiting and panel board schedules, and load calculations and equipment sizing.
  • Experience in healthcare, heavy industrial, and/or data center projects highly desirable; controls experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Autodesk tools, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience performing engineering studies using SKM or ETAP is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related building codes.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within the electrical construction industry, with a commitment to teamwork and dependability.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of organization and accuracy.
