Field Service Engineer – North Central District (Remote - Chicago Area)

Field Service Engineer at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and rapid issue resolution. The position works remotely to cover the Chicago and surrounding suburbs of Illinois, reports to the North Central Service Manager, and requires residency within the region.

• Drive a sense of urgency to address customer needs promptly with a focus on “first time fix”.
• Manage a customer account from start to finish, identifying opportunities to add value through additional services, consumables, and equipment sales.
• Build and grow strong customer relationships, contributing to individual and district revenue success.
• Support field service maintenance agreement growth through monthly recurring billing and partner with Sales in lead generation initiatives.
• Achieve the expected year‑over‑year growth target of 8‑10%.

• Experience troubleshooting and servicing instrumentation with standard test equipment.
• Excellent customer communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and build relationships.

• Associate’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, biological or life science, or a related discipline, or equivalent military experience. Professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Daily local travel required; overnight travel 25‑50% of the time.

• Prior field service experience in related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
• Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Power
  
  BI, Salesforce, Service Max).

$60,000 – $80,000 base salary; eligibility for sales incentive pay. Comprehensive benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
