Job Summary:
We are hiring for a Prototyping Engineer IV role with for our client in Redmond, WA. This position is focused on advanced AR/VR hardware prototyping and systems integration for next-generation devices. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on engineer with strong experience across hardware prototyping, embedded systems debugging, and cross‑functional system integration.
- Build, integrate, and debug multi-disciplinary prototype systems involving mechanical, electrical, optical, and software components.
- Perform hardware and firmware debugging using lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, adb, UART/serial consoles, and JTAG tools.
- Support prototype bring‑up, validation, and troubleshooting of AR/VR display systems and embedded hardware platforms.
- Develop test fixtures, tooling, automation workflows, and assembly/debug procedures for repeatable prototype builds.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional hardware, firmware, software, optical, and mechanical engineering teams.
- Leverage AI tools and workflows for automation, data analysis, visualization, and process optimization.
- Build and maintain AI‑enabled infrastructure, automated data pipelines, and LLM‑integrated workflows.
- 6+ years of hands‑on experience in hardware prototyping, systems integration, lab engineering, or embedded systems development.
- Strong experience with hardware bring‑up, debugging, and integration of multi-disciplinary systems.
- Proficiency using electrical debug tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
- Experience debugging embedded systems using adb, UART/serial consoles, JTAG, log analysis, or similar interfaces.
- Cross‑functional understanding of mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with AR/VR, XR, optics, display systems, optical alignment, or metrology.
- Experience with scripting/programming such as Python, C/C++, or shell scripting for automation and testing.
- Familiarity with PCB schematic review, soldering/rework, firmware development environments, embedded Linux, or RTOS systems.
- Exposure to AI tooling such as Claude, Codex, Gemini, or LLM workflow integration.
Candidates from companies working in AR/VR, consumer electronics, embedded systems, robotics, aerospace, advanced hardware R&D, or display technologies are highly preferred.
