As an entry‑level Civil Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. Key Responsibilities Engineering Standards- Develop familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures
- Develop an understanding and comply with the Black & Veatch quality program
- Support continuous improvement and change management efforts
- Contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope
- Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
- Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work
- Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis
- Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements
- Share information with others as requested
- Coordinate with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership
- Focus on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client’s main interests and drivers
- May provide support to business development or pursuit activities
- Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes
Preferred Masters Degree in Geotechnical, Civil with an emphasis in geotechnical, or in geological engineering/Engineering Geology with adequate.geotechnical and structural classes.
Preferred Technical Skills- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
- Basic industry knowledge and technology trends
- Basic knowledge of company quality program
- Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program in the applicant’s home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment / Physical DemandsHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager direction, job performance, and work assignments.
CompensationAnnual compensation range: $78,802.50 - $92,402.10.
