Location:
Flexible within the U.S. – you may work remotely or from any Jacobs U.S. office.
- Provide design work for data center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low voltage communications systems.
- Conduct technical collaboration with the electrical design team and broader multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Perform quality reviews of design packages and assist with the overall design process.
- Interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to support construction on site.
- Create construction documents and establish design requirements in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Manage quality, scope, budget, and schedule for projects, including retrofitting existing building systems.
- Drive continuous improvement and mentorship within the team.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 6 years of engineering design experience for medium and low voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus‑style power distribution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Extensive knowledge of industrial facility design.
- Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software.
- Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- At least 3 years of data center facility design experience.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Forward‑thinking, eagerness to learn best practices, and ability to bring innovative ideas.
- Proven ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base.
- Strong collaboration skills in multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Passion for buildings and construction.
- Experience designing large projects on greenfield sites.
