Job Type: Contract, 12 - months

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Nuclear Fuel Fabrication Engineer. This role will focus on supporting the development of nuclear fuel processes and will provide valuable oversight and technical direction to ensure that our fabrication objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers to ensure that fabricated fuel meets specified objectives and project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance, planning, and iterative oversight for Type 1 fuel fabrication.
  • Conduct site visits to the laboratory in Everett, WA, and coordinate with key stakeholders to enhance project execution.
  • Compose and review technical documentation to support fuel fabrication process development and facilitate fuel supply planning.
  • Ensure alignment on technical topics, fabrication facility design strategies, and licensing implementation plans.

Key

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Doctorate Degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in nuclear fuel fabrication, with substantial expertise in:
  • Nuclear fuel injection casting (strongly preferred)
  • Novel fuel fabrication techniques (preferred)
  • Analysis techniques (e.g., SEM, ICP-MS, profilometry) (preferred)
  • Exceptional technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence.
  • Proven ability to work on complex tasks requiring a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Familiarity with nuclear methodologies in compliance with ASME NQA-1 standards is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, with a track record of delivering results under aggressive timelines.
