Balfour Beatty Energy is playing a critical role in the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) programme, delivering essential infrastructure that supports the UK’s transition to net zero. We are currently looking to recruit a Quality Advisor to support delivery across our ASTI works in Peterhead.
This role would suit a candidate from a construction background, ideally with civil engineering experience, who has proven Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) expertise on infrastructure or energy projects.
About the Role
As Quality Advisor, you will support “right first time” delivery across the project, ensuring compliance with internal systems, contractual requirements and external standards. You will work closely with construction and delivery teams to drive continual improvement in quality performance.
The role will be based from our Peterhead office / Site.
What you'll be doingKey Responsibilities
- Support delivery of project and business unit Quality Action Plans
- Implement and maintain quality management planning, including Contract Quality Plans
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Drive QA/QC compliance across civil engineering and construction activities
- Carry out internal and supplier audits, including planning, reporting and close‑out
- Support external certification and compliance (including ISO 9001)
- Challenge existing processes and promote continual improvement
- Provide practical quality coaching and advice to site and project teams
- Support root cause analysis and capture of Cost of Poor Quality
- Assist with quality input into tenders and bid submissions where required
- Produce quality reports and management information

About You
Essential
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within a construction energy, infrastructure or civil engineering environment
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with construction, engineering and project teams
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Competent user of Microsoft Office
- CQI Practitioner status or willingness to work towards it
Desirable
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and internal auditing
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to manage your own time and work proactively in a site environment
