Vacuum System Design Engineer / 3D CAD CREO (Contract Role)

Brooks Automation is a global leader in advanced vacuum systems and contamination control technologies used across semiconductor manufacturing. We are seeking a high-potential Vacuum System Design Engineer to join our Vacuum Systems Design Engineering team.

• Assist in the design and development of vacuum chambers, frames, subassemblies, vacuum and nitrogen lines, and precision mechanical components.
• Create and update 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies using Creo.
• Release 2D drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturer parts.
• Perform engineering calculations and basic analysis including structural, modal, and O‑ring compression.
• Support system builds and collaborate with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, and systems engineering).
• Participate in engineering change orders (ECOs), BOM creation, and configuration management within a PLM system (Agile).
• Provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle—from early concept design to final production release and shipment.
• Perform and contribute to design reviews, peer reviews, and concept reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of experience with a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals: statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials science, and mechanical design.
• Experience with 3D CAD CREO is required.
• Understanding of mechanical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
