Job Title: Data Center MEP Manager – Remote (US)
Employment Type: 6 Month Contract, possibility for conversion or extension.
Location: 100% Remote (US), with occasional travel (3 onsite visits in the 6-month period.)

Our client is a premier technology consultancy currently spearheading massive infrastructure expansions for mission‑critical environments. They are presently supporting a high‑stakes strategy to scale data center capacity to 100+MW, specifically focused on the evolving demands of AI‑driven compute. This organization is known for navigating the complexities of high‑density builds for global enterprise clients and major colocation providers.
As the Data Center MEP Manager
, you will lead the technical oversight for large‑scale greenfield builds and expansions, including a $500M / 50 MW AI learning data center. You will act as the subject matter expert for physical installs, thermal dynamics, and liquid cooling integration. Your role is pivotal in managing the end‑to‑end lifecycle of mission‑critical facilities, from reviewing scaling strategies to overseeing L1–L4 commissioning and ensuring Tier 4 uptime standards are met.
- Experience:
20+ years of experience in the construction, operations, and expansion of mission‑critical facilities. - Certifications:
DCCA (Schneider Electric) and IFMA FMP certifications are required. - Industry Background:
Proven experience working with or for major colo providers (e.g., Equinix, QTS, Digital Realty, or Switch) and OEMs (e.g., Vertiv, Schneider, HPE). - AI Infrastructure Expertise:
Deep technical knowledge of heat/cooling requirements specific to AI, including thermal dynamic fluid and hot spot mitigation. - Liquid Cooling Proficiency:
Mastery of all liquid cooling modalities: single‑phase, dual‑phase, rear door heat exchangers, and closed‑loop/in‑rack systems. - Technical Systems:
Comprehensive understanding of large‑scale chilled water infrastructure, HVAC, UPS, switch gear, and BMS/EPMS systems.
- Strategy & Scaling:
Review and execute client strategies to scale data center capacity to 100+MW, identifying limitations and infrastructure risks. - Commissioning Oversight:
Manage L1–L4 commissioning processes for mechanical and electrical systems to ensure seamless facility handovers. - Technical Design Review:
Provide MEP engineering expertise to guide the physical installation of high‑density AI racks and cooling infrastructure. - Operational Excellence:
Maintain Tier 4 uptime standards across enterprise environments, managing critical power and cooling redundancies. - Vendor & Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as the primary technical point of contact between the consultancy, the end client, and equipment manufacturers like Vertiv and Schneider.
This is a 6‑month contract with a strong possibility for conversion or extension based on project performance. The role is 100% Remote (US), though it requires the ability to travel for three onsite visits during the initial 6‑month term.
