Job Overview

We are seeking an FPGA Design Engineer to provide technical expertise for remote sensing and satellite systems. The successful applicant will have experience with digital designs for embedded applications, including processor board design (CPUs and/or GPUs), FPGA design and HDL (specifically VHDL), high‑speed network and interface electronics, and high‑speed analog‑to‑digital interfaces.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test FPGA solutions for remote sensing and satellite applications.
  • Develop processor board designs for embedded systems.
  • Implement high‑speed network and interface electronics.
  • Design high‑speed analog‑to‑digital interfaces.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent engineering or scientific experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field with an independent research project.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, capable of working independently and resolving issues in a team environment.
  • Experience in high‑speed digital electronics design, development, test, and implementation.
  • Experience in FPGA and SoC design using Xilinx Vivado, Vitis, Microchip Libero, or similar toolsets.
  • Experience with HDL verification techniques, such as HDL test benches.
  • Experience with test‑driven development practices (CI/CD).
  • Proficiency with space‑radiation effects in digital electronics (single‑event effects).
  • Leadership experience in technically relevant projects.
  • Strong organization and planning skills, able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Desire to learn new skills and develop expertise in unfamiliar areas.
  • Active Q and TS/SCI clearance.
