the Role

The role involves leading on‑site commissioning, upgrades, and optimization of complex ion‑beam and plasma‑based process systems while ensuring long‑term reliability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on‑site commissioning, upgrades, and optimization of complex ion‑beam and plasma‑based process systems.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize tool uptime and ensure long‑term reliability.
  • Diagnose a wide range of mechanical, electrical, plasma, vacuum, and control‑system issues using structured root‑cause analysis.
  • Provide hands‑on customer training, ensuring safe and confident operation of equipment.
  • Capture performance data and collaborate with engineering teams to support continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company professionally as a technical partner and trusted advisor to customer engineering teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, or a closely related field.
Required Skills
  • Experience working with advanced wafer‑processing or vacuum‑based manufacturing tools (e.g., plasma systems, ion‑beam systems, thin‑film deposition equipment, etch tools).
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Plasma and ion source principles, RF/MW power delivery, and high‑voltage components
  • Industrial control systems such as PLCs and automation components
  • Vacuum technology including pumps, gauges, valves, and gas‑delivery hardware
  • Motion systems, robotics, and semiconductor handling mechanisms
  • Computer systems, equipment communication interfaces, and basic data analysis
  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to approach complex issues methodically.
  • Excellent communication, reliability, and professionalism when engaging with customer teams.
  • Comfort with travel in the 30–50% range depending on project load.
