The role involves leading on‑site commissioning, upgrades, and optimization of complex ion‑beam and plasma‑based process systems while ensuring long‑term reliability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Lead on‑site commissioning, upgrades, and optimization of complex ion‑beam and plasma‑based process systems.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize tool uptime and ensure long‑term reliability.
- Diagnose a wide range of mechanical, electrical, plasma, vacuum, and control‑system issues using structured root‑cause analysis.
- Provide hands‑on customer training, ensuring safe and confident operation of equipment.
- Capture performance data and collaborate with engineering teams to support continuous improvement.
- Represent the company professionally as a technical partner and trusted advisor to customer engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Experience working with advanced wafer‑processing or vacuum‑based manufacturing tools (e.g., plasma systems, ion‑beam systems, thin‑film deposition equipment, etch tools).
- Working knowledge of:
- Plasma and ion source principles, RF/MW power delivery, and high‑voltage components
- Industrial control systems such as PLCs and automation components
- Vacuum technology including pumps, gauges, valves, and gas‑delivery hardware
- Motion systems, robotics, and semiconductor handling mechanisms
- Computer systems, equipment communication interfaces, and basic data analysis
- Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to approach complex issues methodically.
- Excellent communication, reliability, and professionalism when engaging with customer teams.
- Comfort with travel in the 30–50% range depending on project load.
