$76,200 - $127,000 per year.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in the Curtiss-Wright EMD Purchasing organization as a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to provide hands‑on problem solving and technical judgment to assist mission‑critical suppliers. The individual will perform proactive supplier oversight to review and evaluate supplier processes and employ preventative/corrective actions as required to improve on‑time delivery and supplier manufacturing efficiency. The individual will work hand‑in‑hand with Design Engineering, Sourcing team members, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Project Management to result in improved critical supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities- Support Purchasing department initiatives by identifying critical suppliers.
- Act as a primary manufacturing engineer partner with critical suppliers, ensuring day‑to‑day flawless production execution.
- Progressively develop critical suppliers to act on improvement opportunities and resolve vulnerability issues.
- Build relationships with critical suppliers to improve communication, on‑time delivery performance via capability, yield improvement, and throughput optimization.
- Serve as an expert in critical supplier manufacturing process execution.
- Provide technical leadership through reviews, production/first‑article readiness reviews, PFMEA, control plans, process audits, and on‑site oversight.
- Support critical supplier capacity assessments.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to manufacturing nonconformances.
- Coordinate supplier preparation for documentation submissions, source inspections, audits, and regulatory or customer visits as required.
- Support and manage nonconformance dispositioning.
- Coordinate cross‑functionally with internal design engineering, quality, supply chain, and program teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
- Share best practices and lessons learned across internal and supplier organizations.
- Travel (50% local, domestic or international) as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and/or equivalent manufacturing lead experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years in a manufacturing environment with primary experience in machining, fabrication welding, testing, winding, and/or assembly processes.
- Prior on‑site supplier experience highly desired.
- Experience in commercial nuclear, defense, aerospace, energy, or similarly regulated industries.
- Working knowledge of quality systems within the commercial nuclear (10
CFR
50 Appendix B, ASME NQA‑1) or defense industry (ISO‑9001, MIL‑I‑45208) desired. - Blueprint reading, particularly involving GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
- Experience with procedure, work instruction, drawing or routing creation, review, or approval.
- Evaluation of design changes and related manufacturing process changes.
- Excellent organization, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills.
- Problem‑solving skills, especially involving tight feature tolerances and rework of part deviations.
- Green or Black Belt Lean Certification a plus.
- Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
At this facility we have a flexible work schedule – work from home (1 to 2 days) or 9/80 schedule.
