GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Distribution CAD Operator 3 and will report out of our Distribution group. This position will be fully remote but reporting to our DuBois, PA office. The ideal candidate has good analytical thinking, problem-solving techniques, computer-aided drafting (CAD) experience, and excellent communication skills.
Job Duties- Design and permit distribution lines, including drawing preparation, bill of materials development, material ordering, and conducting field visits.
- Ability to conduct field visits and use information to create drawings if needed.
- Utilize various software to create overhead and underground electrical distribution designs.
- Follow local utility and construction standards.
- Ability to learn, retain and apply on the job training and use design software packages efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively in design teams.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be flexible to handle shifting deadlines and scope changes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Accountable for budget, scope, and deadlines. Begins to demonstrate advanced knowledge of CAD skills. Focuses on quality.
Begins to perform self-reviews ofwork. Corrects errors before submitting work toothers forreview
- 3+ Years of Experience
- Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School or equivalent experience
- Clear understanding of geospatial relationships. Perform general review ofproject work. Advanced knowledge of aspects of corporate and group standards
- Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope
- Provides minimal oversight and begins to provide mentoring to lower-level CAD Operators
- Given general instructions and performs work independently with minimal supervision
- Possess very good oral and written communication skills. Interacts effectively with other staff. Able to coach and mentor lower-level CAD staff as required to facilitate projects
