Job Description Summary
As a member of the Condition Assessment Team, Field Inspection Services, you will be an active contributor to the engineering assessment and disposition of boiler components. This role will require you to lead and complete Non‑destructive projects in the field to support the engineering analysis of high energy and low temperature components. This will entail conducting and documenting the results of a field assessment then closing out with our customers on field results.

Establish yourself as a subject matter expert by demonstrating mastery of basic Non‑destructive disciplines with working knowledge of some advanced Non‑destructive methods such as phased array ultrasonic inspection and basic metallurgical evaluations.

- You have experience with leading inspection efforts, executing inspection plans and working with customers to resolve potentially impactful issues in a professional manner.
- You have advanced experience with non‑destructive methodologies and a depth of knowledge in providing the right inspection techniques to unique challenges.
- Set up and calibrate Non‑destructive (NDT) testing equipment.
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
- Organize and report test results.
- Perform specialized inspections.
- May instruct and supervise others (subcontractors). Responsible for technical leadership and mentoring of the NDT staff.
- Interface daily with the client about work priorities and provide daily progress reporting.
- Actively participate in client programs, planning and strategy sessions.
- Provide detailed explanations on NDT techniques and explain results to non‑NDT oriented personnel in a simple manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel will be required.
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as assigned and required by field projects.
- Diploma in Technical Discipline from Trade School, Vocational, or Military Program AND 8 years of related experience using NDT Techniques in Power Generation, Industrial, or Manufacturing environment OR High School Diploma/GED AND 10 years of related experience using NDT Techniques in Power Generation, Industrial, or Manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 7‑8 years experience showing ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and fluency in English.
- NDT Level II Certification. UT, MT, PT Certifications are a plus.
- Phased Array Ultrasonic Examination experience.
- In‑depth knowledge and field experience with the NDT discipline in customer site applications.
- Certification as a Level II in MT, PT and UT and ability to meet company certification standards.
- Experience with automated and computerized NDT Equipment. Demonstrated work history supporting customers and producing final reports.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic skills training to ensure knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Code‑shooting capabilities.

Pay range: $78,800 – $131,200, with potential geographical differentials of 110%, 120% or 130% for certain areas.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
