Company Overview

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

Position Summary

Responsible for supporting preconstruction coordination activities for electrical system design and procurement on utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a strong emphasis on electrical material procurement coordination. This role bridges engineering, procurement, and construction by translating design into actionable Bills of Material. The role is fully remote; specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Constructability & Procurement Coordination.
  • Develop, refine, and support execution of detailed electrical Bills of Material through material take-offs and design reviews, ensuring alignment with project specifications, constructability requirements, and budgets.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure BOM accuracy, revision control, and alignment with procurement strategy, including supplier selection approach, lead time considerations, and cost optimization.
  • Contribute to constructability reviews by validating material selections and installation considerations against field practices and procurement constraints.
  • Review contract documents to identify electrical scope requirements and compliance obligations, ensuring alignment with design and procurement activities.
  • Analyze design constraints, material lead times, and project schedules to ensure procurement milestones are achieved, including timely release of long-lead and critical path materials to mitigate schedule risks.
  • Support material procurement planning through development and maintenance of schedules, delivery sequencing, and milestone tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet).
  • Support procurement execution activities including RFQ development, bid evaluation, vendor coordination, and purchase order release to ensure alignment with project schedules and material strategies.
  • Additional responsibilities:
Prepare, transmit, and track design & material submittals for EEOR & owner review; support the Electrical Preconstruction Management team with preparation and tracking of project-specific electrical material budgets; assist with updating Smartsheet trackers to reflect changes to project schedules, status of EPC exhibits, procurement milestones, submittal reviews, and design deliverables; coordinate with project field teams to ensure vendor invoices are coded as assigned.
Minimum

Skills or Experience Requirements
  • 2–5+ years of experience in electrical construction, procurement, estimating, or materials management, preferably supporting utility-scale solar or similar EPC projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or similar discipline; equivalent will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical material scopes and BOM development.
  • Experience supporting electrical material procurement, contract execution, or supply planning functions is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical install practices, material applications and specifications, procurement workflows and lead time management.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in Smartsheet preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical plans.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Detailed oriented and effective organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously.
  • High aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
