Industrial Engineer – onsite, Tulsa, OK. This role involves leading and driving change through the implementation of World Class Manufacturing tools to solve problems and make improvements throughout the Tulsa manufacturing plant or other Whirlpool Facility. The engineer will own costing and projects regarding continuous improvement, and the efficient use of the plant's human resources, and lead all activities associated with labor utilization for operational areas assigned.
Responsibilities- Be active in ergonomic studies and lean activities to determine safety and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Lead cost studies to determine best product flow in the plant and product features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insight into how to minimize labor requirements and determine assembly sequence.
- Use strong data analytical skills to drive continuous improvement through detailed analytics.
- Develop a project pipeline for cost takeout/loss removal, working closely with finance to validate potential savings.
- Assist in developing and implementing optimized workflows, layouts, and methods to enhance production flow, minimize waste, and improve resource utilization using lean principles.
- Ensure new models or parts efficiently integrate into operations.
- Support WCM implementation by providing leadership to the continuous improvement group.
- Lead and manage multiple Kaizens of various complexity with minimal oversight.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of industrial engineering or continuous improvement experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline with experience in lean manufacturing, time studies, or process optimization.
- Strong background in World Class Manufacturing (WCM).
- Strong knowledge of MODAPTS, Proplanner tools, and AutoCAD.
- Creative problem‑solving techniques and the ability to accomplish tasks and objectives.
- Outstanding organization, communication, and leadership skills.
- Competent on PC and mainframe systems related to responsibilities.
- Understanding of factory costs and strong financial acumen.
