Responsibilities
- Prepare design calculations, design drawings, and specifications for the most economical method of construction.
- Seal drawings and reports as required.
- Perform independent studies and prepare clear, concise reports of results and conclusions.
- Direct other engineers and technicians on assigned tasks, reviewing and evaluating their results.
- Serve as Project Manager for projects primarily within the group, coordinating with other groups and the client.
- Coordinate the work of drafting personnel, technicians, and other engineers on technical matters pertinent to project assignments.
- Maintain project tasks within schedule and budget to meet project needs.
- Provide input and coordination with other departments.
- Provide data for cost estimating and secure preliminary equipment costs for review.
- Investigate new methods and implement new ideas or procedures that benefit the firm and its clients.
- Keep project teams informed on status, communicate progress, next steps, and coordination requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 6+ years of related water and wastewater treatment experience.
- Technical experience in water and wastewater design of pipelines, storage, lift stations, pump stations, coordination of civil/structural/mechanical/electrical design, and construction contract administration.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently.
- Proven ability to manage a multi-discipline design team and assign tasks to, and review work of, EITs.
- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients, internal and external, and representatives of local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Master's in Civil Engineering or related field.
