Mid‑Level Piping Engineer (Oak Ridge, TN) – Hybrid/Remote

Responsible for calculating hydraulic sizing, stress analysis, pressure relief, and pipe support for pressurized piping systems. Generate piping specifications following ANSI B31.3 and B31.9, conduct constructability reviews, create insulation & painting specifications, perform piping safety reviews, assist with General Arrangement drawings, and select or design engineered supports for metal and plastic piping.

• Perform hydraulic equipment sizing calculations.
• Conduct stress analysis on piping assemblies.
• Design and evaluate pressure relief strategies.
• Generate standards‑compliant pipe support selections.
• Prepare piping insulation and painting specifications.
• Review drawings for constructability and site execution.
• Assist in development of General Arrangement drawings.
• Conduct piping safety reviews and provide recommendations.

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Preferred: 5+ years of engineering experience in piping or related field.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Technical experience with PIPE‑FLO, Caesar II, AFT Arrow, or AFT Fathom (preferred).
• Strong engineering technical writing skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Provide intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting up to 20lb.
• Carry items up to 50ft. distance.
• Use hand manipulation for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine work.
• Occasional travel and work near construction equipment and hazardous machinery.
• May work on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, and temperature extremes.
• Potential work at heights.
• Adhere to appropriate grooming, dress codes, and safety configurations.

$123,000 – $163,000 per annum (good‑faith estimate; final compensation may vary).
