Arcadis is seeking a Project Air Quality Engineer to join our Integrated Sustainability and Compliance (ISC) team in a Texas office such as Austin, Dallas, or Houston. This is a hybrid role, splitting time between an Arcadis office, remote work, and visits to client sites.
In this role you will work directly with the North American Air Quality and Noise Community of Practice Leaders to support our expanding Gulf Coast air quality practice. You will provide technical expertise on Gulf Coast–based air‑quality projects including permitting and compliance support, regulatory applicability and strategy development, emissions inventory development and reporting, engine and ozone‑depleting substances compliance, greenhouse‑gas emissions and sustainability reporting, and air dispersion modeling.
Roleaccountabilities
- Apply knowledge of Federal and State air‑quality regulations (especially Texas and other Gulf Coast states) to air permitting and compliance projects.
- Assist clients—including upstream and midstream facilities—with permitting and routine air‑quality compliance reporting such as compliance certifications, emissions tracking, deviation reports, and MACT reports.
- Prepare air permit applications such as Permits‑by‑Rule, minor NSR, FESOP, Title
V, PSD (and PSD avoidance), and Non‑Attainment NSR (and NNSR avoidance). - Collaborate with Arcadis’ air team leaders to ensure application of regulatory knowledge, analytical techniques, and excellent project delivery.
- Perform emissions calculations for regulated air pollutants and greenhouse gases to be included in reporting such as emission inventories, Toxics Release Inventories and TierII.
- Support client and proposal development activities.
- Participate in additional environmental compliance projects such as compliance auditing, waste management, stormwater permitting, and SPCC plans.
- Required: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in air‑quality, with a strong background in oil and gas air‑emission calculations and permitting; bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in the fields listed above; EIT or PE registration in Texas and/or Louisiana.
- In this role you must be willing to travel up to 10‑20% for project and client needs, which may include single overnight trips.
- Most work can be performed from an Arcadis office location or remotely.
- Salary range: $97,680 – $146,520. Actual salaries vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
