Job Overview

Mid-Level Plant Designer (Oak Ridge) – Hybrid/Remote

• Develop piping systems and equipment layout in Smart Plant 3D or similar BIM design tools.
• Deliver general equipment arrangement deliverables.
• Assist with resolving interferences and developing resolutions.
• Ensure proper integration with other BIM tools such as Intelligent Schematics.
• Work with Piping Engineering on pipe specifications and support locations for stress analysis.
• Collaborate with Structural Engineering for pipe support designs.
• Manage model outputs for material lists and reports.
• Work with Civil on underground interface connections.

• AS Degree or Higher.
• 10+ years of experience using BIM tools for plant design.
• Chemical process, industrial mechanical/piping design experience.
• Experience with nuclear piping design preferred.
• Local to Oak Ridge, TN preferred; otherwise capable of travel.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Valid driver’s license.

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting up to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried is 50 feet. Hand manipulation required for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, and below the shoulder for the same. No foot controls necessary.

Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional travel, and work near construction site equipment when in the field, occasional exposure to hazardous equipment and machinery, uneven ground, dust, gas or fumes, noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.

$53.00–$70.00 per hour.
