Mechanical Engineer - New / Existing Product Design for the Semiconductor Industry (Contract Role)

Location:

Fremont, CA (Onsite). Only local CA candidates will be considered.

• Design new products for the semiconductor industry and design new mechanical features for existing products.
• Produce and release 3D models, drawings and BOMs per the Brooks process.
• Work cooperatively with electrical and software engineering to ensure new product designs will function per the market and customer requirements.
• Understand and communicate cost impact of new designs.
• Build and test prototypes, hold cross-functional design reviews, and publish DR/DVT records.
• Support operations, supply chain, field service, and the quality organization to ensure the product line can be sustained and function reliably.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automation product development environment with knowledge of equipment automation.
• Full life-cycle ownership of new products, from concept through production release.
• Ability to understand Marketing Requirements Documents and supplement with mechanical design requirements.
• Strong 3D CAD modeling (ProE/Creo) of mechanical designs.
• Strong knowledge of fundamentals of components as robotic/equipment automation mechanisms, including motors, bearings, sensors, and actuators.
• Knowledge of materials and mechanical fabrication processes; good design practices for the chosen material.
• Ability to estimate tasks, manage schedules, and follow milestones.
• Hands‑on skill for assembly and troubleshooting of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Experience with Agile/Agile
  
  EC or other PLM systems.
• FEA (Finite Element Analysis) of mechanical designs is a plus.
• Knowledge of SEMI standards is a plus.
• Knowledge of vision systems is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
• Experience leading mechanical engineering products is preferred.
