Job Summary

Mercury Systems is offering a Principal Electrical Engineer a fulfilling career where you will see the direct impact of your designs in deployed systems with true end‑to‑end ownership. You will shape ruggedized solutions that must perform in the real world under extreme conditions, influence architecture, design decisions, and system‑level trade‑offs across multiple domains, and participate in developing mission‑critical embedded computing, high‑speed digital systems, advanced FPGA solutions, secure processing, and rugged electronics supporting operations across air, land, sea, and space.

Job Responsibilities
  • Participate in the execution of complex digital hardware programs from concept through production.
  • Architect advanced electrical circuit solutions involving secure processing, storage, networking, FPGAs, high‑speed interfaces, and extreme environment electronics.
  • Develop advanced high‑speed digital design including 400G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen5+, DDR5+, and modern interconnects.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, design guidelines, and process improvements that scale across the organization.
  • Execute the development and verification of highly complex circuits, modules, and systems.
Required Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Typically requires 6+ years relevant electrical design including complex embedded digital hardware from concept through production.
  • Experience with high‑speed and high‑performance interfaces, memory technologies, and next‑generation interconnects.
  • Experience with signal integrity.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to U.S. export regulations. Access is limited to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or individuals eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. government.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with any of the following is valuable but not required:
    • Intel or other advanced CPU architectures (Xeon‑D, Cascade Lake, Granite Rapids).
    • Advanced FPGA technologies (AMD/Xilinx Versal, Intel/Altera Agilex).
    • High‑speed interfaces (400G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen5+, DDR5+).
    • Experience designing advanced network architectures (Nvidia, Broadcom, Marvell).
  • VPX/VITA standards (3U/6U), COM Express.
  • MIL‑STD development in rugged environments.
  • Space electronics or radiation tolerant components.
  • Cadence Schematic Capture tools or equivalent.
  • Cadence Allegro or equivalent CAD/SI tools.
  • Mentor Validate or schematic integrity tools.
  • Reliability/stress analysis (FMECA, derating).
  • Requirements and workflow tools (DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience supporting proposals, cost/schedule estimates, and BOE development.
Location
  • Hybrid out of our Andover, MA or our Hudson, NH location.
  • Hybrid or remote work in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD, TX; VA, CA, NH, MA; NJ.
Compensation
  • $87,100.00 – $ annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees.
  • $97,600.00 – $ annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA.
  • $ – $ annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in NJ.
