Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail‑oriented and self‑motivated Designer / CAD Drafter to support mechanical design and documentation activities. This role works closely with a Principal Engineer to interpret design intent, understand technical requirements, and translate concepts into accurate 3D models and engineering drawings. The position is responsible for creating and detailing parts and assemblies, applying proper Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), generating exploded views, and releasing documentation through Agile PLM.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14 standards.
- Generate assembly drawings, exploded views, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Prepare drawing packages suitable for manufacturing, inspection, and assembly.
- Document, revise, and release drawings and related files in Agile PLM.
- Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Identify and resolve design and documentation issues with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, and cross‑functional teams as needed.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal drafting standards and procedures.
- Required – 5+ years of experience as a CAD Drafter, Designer, or similar role.
- Required – Proficiency in Creo Parametric (preferred) or Solid Works (acceptable).
- Required – Strong working knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drawing practices.
- Required – Experience creating detailed part drawings and complex assembly drawings.
- Required – Familiarity with Agile PLM (or similar product lifecycle management systems).
- Required – Ability to work independently and troubleshoot design issues with limited support.
- Required – Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Required – Good communication and organizational skills.
- Preferred – Experience in a manufacturing, automation, or robotics environment.
- Preferred – Knowledge of machined parts, sheet metal, and mechanical assemblies.
- Preferred – Experience supporting production or sustaining engineering teams.
Comfortable operating with limited direction from managers and peers. Proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions. Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. Committed to maintaining high‑quality engineering documentation.
Work Location & FlexibilityWork arrangements may include a mix of in‑office and remote work, depending on the nature of the role and business needs. Specific expectations will be shared during the interview process.
