Civil​/Structural Engineer

Position Overview

Airswift is looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer to work in Mobile, Alabama for a major chemical client on an initial 1‑year contract. The engineer will be based in Mobile and must be able to work from home as well as in the office. Willingness to travel as needed for project support is required. The role is 40 hours per week (overtime may be required).

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a recognized accredited program (ABET) in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
• Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) preferred
• Prior experience as a Project Manager on single‑discipline projects preferred
• Prior experience as a CSA lead on major capital projects preferred
• Ability to supervise engineering staff on industrial projects of varying sizes
• Ability to assemble and review bid packages for civil/structural work scopes
• Familiarity with applicable engineering codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, etc.)
• Experience with civil/structural analysis software (Risa 3D & Risa Foundation preferred)
• Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office
• Ability to produce estimate‑level preliminary designs and material take‑offs suitable for the level of the estimate being performed on a project
• Experience developing conceptual layouts and cost studies to identify the simplest, most efficient engineering approach
• Capability to independently apply knowledge and continuously develop the company’s quality program for the CSA department
• Establish related processes and promote a culture conducive to quality, providing guidance and support for continuous improvement and change management efforts
• Ability to perform field work to gather relevant project data and provide construction support as required
• Knowledge and experience to check calculations made by other engineers to ensure code and specification conformance and sound engineering practice
