Overview

Join our expanding Power Delivery group as a Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer. In this exciting role, you will lead innovative projects while designing high-voltage transmission lines (69 kV to 765 kV). You'll collaborate closely with clients and vendors to create cutting-edge solutions and guarantee effective project execution. This position offers flexible work arrangements, allowing for a hybrid model with both office attendance and work-from-home options following the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Transmission Line Engineer, your day will be filled with collaboration and creativity. Whether collaborating with clients on advanced designs, optimizing routes and materials for efficiency, or utilizing PLS-CADD to develop accurate models, you will play a vital role in our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Transmission Line Design
    :
    Design transmission lines from 69 kV to 765 kV using PLS-CADD for model development, conductor sag analysis, plan and profile drawing creation, and ensuring compliance with right-of-way requirements.

  • Collaboration & Strategy
    :
    Partner with team members and clients to identify project needs, including conductor selection and pole utilization. Engage with vendors to assess and implement materials and innovative design solutions tailored to client requirements.

  • Team Coordination & Project Deliverables
    :
    Lead small design teams in preparing scoping documents, establishing design criteria, and delivering project results.

  • Client Support & Construction Assistance
    :
    Provide engineering support during construction phases, attend meetings, and facilitate coordination efforts and community outreach as necessary.

  • Additional Responsibilities
    :
    Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • EIT Certification preferred.
  • Typically requires 6 years of experience in transmission line design.
  • Extensive knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and foundation design software like MFAD or L-Pile.
  • Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and software for producing plan and profile drawings, structure utilization reports, and material coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ASCE 7, and AISC standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
Compensation Range
