Senior Electrical Engineer – Hybrid Schedule (3 Days In Office)
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support complex industrial and commercial projects within its Engineering Services group. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging power distribution and infrastructure projects while maintaining a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and flexibility for remote work.
The company specializes in electrical power systems, industrial controls, and technology infrastructure projects for a broad client base ranging from industrial facilities to large-scale commercial operations.
Position OverviewThe Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical system design, power system analysis, construction support, and project coordination for industrial and commercial facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and experience supporting projects from design through commissioning and closeout.
Responsibilities- Design electrical systems for industrial and commercial facilities including:
- Medium and low-voltage power distribution systems
- Emergency and standby power systems
- Interior and exterior lighting systems
- Communication, networking, and auxiliary systems
- Perform power system studies and analysis including:
- Load flow studies
- Short circuit analysis
- Protective device coordination
- Arc flash studies
- Support construction and commissioning activities including:
- Reviewing equipment submittals
- Responding to RFIs
- Field coordination and verification
- Assisting with project closeout documentation
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across project teams
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams throughout project execution
- 3–10+ years of electrical engineering experience within industrial or commercial environments
- Experience preparing construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Background supporting construction, startup, and commissioning activities
- Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM, ETAP, Easy Power, or similar
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and common project collaboration platforms
- Strong communication, organizational, and project coordination skills
- Ability to travel occasionally to project sites as needed
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
