Responsibilities- Plan Preparation: Prepare drawings for highways, bridges, right of way layouts, and related project documents.
- CADD Operation: Use Computer Aided Drafting and Design tools and conventional drafting methods to develop project plans.
- Design Support: Draft construction details, check grades, calculate quantities, and assist designers with plan development.
- Survey Interpretation: Interpret surveyed data and deeds to create accurate plan sheets and right of way information.
- Project Coordination: Work with designers and participate in meetings, field views, and inspections to support project delivery.
- Documentation Tasks: Create maps, sketches, summaries, and other materials for estimates, presentations, and design records.
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Telework:
Opportunity to work from home part‑time upon successful completion of probationary period. Telework requires a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved Pennsylvania location. If you cannot telework, you may report to the headquarters office in Montoursville. Telework availability is subject to change. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within Pennsylvania will begin employment at a starting annual salary of $45,907 (before taxes).
- One year as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal title) or
- Two years of experience in drafting assignments, including one in highway drafting, six months CADD experience, and high school graduation, or
- One year of highway drafting and detailing assignments including six months CADD experience and an Associate's Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology, or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Conditional offers will require submission of criminal history reports.
