Summary
As a Supplier Quality Engineer Level 3, you will be a senior member of the quality team, responsible for leading supplier quality assurance initiatives and driving strategic improvements. This senior-level position involves managing complex supplier relationships, leading audits, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of supplier quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Manage and conduct comprehensive supplier audits and assessments.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve complex quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics and provide feedback for improvement.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of manufacturing systems, repair process procedures, quality improvement programs, and design for manufacturability concepts.
- Analyze supplier performance data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support strategic supplier selection and new product development processes.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for critical quality issues.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Level I and Level II supplier quality engineers.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to supplier quality activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of product development, quality assurance, supplier quality engineering, supplier quality performance systems and engineering documentation.
- Extensive experience in supplier quality engineering or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
- Willingness to travel to supplier locations up to 10%.
