Selectek has an immediate need for a Structural Engineer in the Alexandria/Springfield, VA area. We are looking for recent graduates from an ABET accredited University, or someone with an EIT and 1-3+ years of experience who is looking to grow in their structural building design career.
Starting salary relevant to education, EIT status and experience, plus 100% paid medical, tuition reimbursement and other excellent perks!
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), with a concentration in structural engineering, OR Architectural Engineering
- EIT AND/OR Structural Building Design experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, & current industry structural engineering design software.
- Good organizational and team skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Willingness to be challenged and develop new skills
- Ability to work freely in the US

- Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of building materials using various building codes
- Participate in field surveys and document existing conditions
- Communicate and coordinate with architects and engineers of other disciplines
- Review and evaluate existing building structural systems
- Prepare drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Write comprehensive reports
- Review construction submittals, participate in construction observation, and respond to contractor inquiries
- Track all hours and expenses for your billable hours on projects
- Continued pursuit of EIT Licensing, continuing education and eventual PE Licensing
Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000+ (EIT, years of relevant exp, close to PE all factors)
Term of assignment:
Direct hire
Pay method when direct: Salary + 100% Paid employee medical, company HSA contributions, tuition reimbursement, gym membership and much more!
Location of job: Alexandria, VA 22312
Hours and shift: Monday - Friday, 8AM - PM5 (can be somewhat flexible as long as it's 8 hours/day)
Work From Home: Yes. Flexibility depends on experience and candidate's current situation.
