Remote; Airframe Analysis Engineer

Job Description

An Airframe Analysis Engineer position is available with Belcan Engineering Group in Lexington, KY or via remote support. This full‑time direct or contract role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent and experience in airframe structural analysis. The primary responsibilities include classical hand calculations and finite element analysis for primary and secondary structure.

• Perform structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and classical aircraft hand stress analysis methods.
• Plan, model, and review results internally and with the customer.
• Ensure that calculations and models are systematically checked and validated.
• Analyze data, evaluate results, and prepare formal reports of findings.
• Act as liaison with other teams and interact with OEM customers.
• Maintain strong communication with the internal project team and customer.
• Manage own project work and provide mentorship to others.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
• Seven or more years of experience performing airframe analysis with strong technical ability.
• Solid understanding of structural load paths and failure modes.
• Proficiency in hand calculations and finite element analysis using Femap/Nastran.
• Experience in static and fatigue analysis.
• Experience in composites analysis.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to strict timelines.
• Mentoring experience and ability to take control of a task from start to finish.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to travel to customer and work site locations as required.

• VBA or similar programming skill set.

The position offers a salary range of $85,000 to $125,000, with consideration of education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
