The Opportunity
Our client, a leading global supplier of industrial automation products, is looking for a Product Engineer who is passionate about becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Drives, Motors, and Motion Control.
This is a unique "entrepreneurial" engineering role. You won't just be troubleshooting; you will partner with Product Managers to specify, analyze, and test new products for the industrial market. Target Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 Base + CDL + Profit Sharing (~$160K-$180K total comp)
Location:
North Atlanta (Cumming, GA)
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid (Up to 2 days remote)
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 7:00–4:00 or 8:00–5:00 (Strictly 40 hours/week)
Key Responsibilities
Product SME:
Serve as the technical expert for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), AC/DC motors, and motion systems through the entire life cycle.
Technical Evaluation:
Evaluate and test new products and technologies from global suppliers to ensure they meet market needs.
NPI (New Product Introduction):
Support product launches through documentation, training, and 2nd-tier technical backline support (business hours only).
Supplier Engagement:
Partner with suppliers on technology roadmaps, product packaging, and agency compliance (UL, CSA, CE).
Creative Engineering:
Identify and lead projects to improve product quality or lower costs in a high-creativity engineering office environment.
Qualifications
Education:
BS in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is preferred. Candidates with 10+ years of equivalent experience will be considered.
Technical Depth: 7–10 years of experience in the industrial control/automation market or OEM manufacturing.
Domain Expertise:
Hands-on experience with Drives, Motors, Motion Control, and Power Products.
Desirable
Skills:
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, agency approvals (UL, CE, etc.), or CAD software (AutoCAD/Solid Works).
Soft Skills:
Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage technical projects independently.
