Your
Key Responsibilities As a senior process engineer, you will be a key member of exceptional teams that deliver successful projects for our clients in the Water business. You will engage internally throughout the organization with staff at all levels, and externally with clients, members of business and professional organizations, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and other firms. Specific responsibilities of a process engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Manages project technical tasks including completing design work, calculations, writing specifications and technical reports on water treatment facility projects.
* Coordinates design and report deliverable packages for submission to clients and/or approval authorities.
* Coordinate with the Project Manager and attend meetings with the client, team members and sub-consultants.
* Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
* Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
* Prepare engineering documents and contract documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
* Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers process mechanical systems or products for a project.
* Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
* Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
* Liaise with clients, regulatory and/or funding agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
* Remain current on regulatory policy and rule changes and may establish working relationships with regulatory officials.
* Support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, write technical portions of proposals, participate in client interviews, and support negotiations for project contracts in conjunction with marketing and business development professionals.
* Engage in leadership in professional organizations that align with expertise; write technical papers and deliver technical presentations for conferences and symposia events.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Demonstrated efficient task management and technical execution of assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects.
* Broad, general understanding of many relevant areas of municipal engineering, hydraulics, and process mechanical systems design with respect to materials as well as industry standards.
* General understanding of various construction means and methods and their disturbance impacts on the project site.
* Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of design and construction codes.
* Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
* Proficient with of Microsoft Office Suite. Basic understanding of Revit is a plus.
* Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently within a team.
* Ability to make sound, defensible business decisions, and identify, assess, evaluate, and solve complex problems.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
* Education:
Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry.
* Licenses/Certifications:
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
