Structural Engineer, Environmental Engineer
Freese and Nichols is continuing to grow our structural practice in Texas and is seeking a Structural Discipline Lead in Austin to help advance our technical excellence, develop our people, and support delivery of complex, high-impact projects. This is an opportunity for a strong technical leader who wants to shape a discipline, mentor engineers, and play a key role in project success across a wide range of structural applications—from water infrastructure to commercial and industrial facilities.

- Prepare and review technical reports, plans, and specifications

- Project Management – Manage scope, schedule, and budget for multiple concurrent projects
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders
- Team Development – Mentor and develop junior engineers, support knowledge sharing and continuous learning, foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment
- Client & Team Collaboration – Build strong relationships with project teams and clients, understand project needs and deliver tailored, high-quality solutions, contribute to a culture of exceptional client service
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE)
- 6+ years of structural design experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Experience supervising or mentoring staff
