Overview
Job Title:
Structural Engineer IV. We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer IV to develop structural analysis and design deliverables, engineering design criteria, and specifications for foundations, concrete, and steel structures on various sized projects. The successful candidate will prepare structural analysis and design for industrial facilities, including process equipment foundations, buildings, dynamic and rotating equipment, open structures, pipe racks, and modifications to existing facilities.
This position may require providing discipline administrative and supervisory functions on assigned projects.
- Develop structural analysis and design deliverables for projects.
- Prepare basic to complex levels of structural analysis and design for industrial facilities.
- Provide discipline administrative and supervisory functions, including development of discipline scope documents, engineering budgets, schedules, and associated staffing plans.
- Manage assigned staff and coordinate design efforts with other disciplines, subcontractors, construction, and client personnel.
- Prepare or check structural calculations, sketches, specifications, and support development of design drawings.
- Provide technical guidance, review vendor documents, and shop drawings.
- Monitor project scopes and schedule for applicable discipline and identify changes in scope.
- Ensure design work and documents are correct, consistent with applicable codes, and constructible.
- Stamp required project documents as a Professional Engineer (PE) when responsible for work.
- Proficiency in structural engineering, design, and structural analysis.
- Experience with concrete, structural steel, and engineering procedures.
- Familiarity with codes and standards of ACI, AISC, IBC, and ASCE.
- Ability to supervise and lead project completion.
- Strong organizational skills for handling multiple projects.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.Pro.
- Ability to work in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Revit is a plus.
- ABET BS Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- NCEES accreditation preferred.
- PE strongly preferred.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
- Great attitude and team player.
- Successful completion of a background screening process.
The work environment includes using technologies such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, RISA 3D, or STAAD.Pro. The role requires effective communication and collaboration within a team, handling multiple projects, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and codes.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $70.00/hr.
