Marine Engineer – Remote, full‑time at CACI International. Minimum clearance required:
Secret. This position includes up to 10% travel.
- Provide systems engineering support for in‑service and new vessel design.
- Support shipboard engineering systems.
- Work with stakeholders.
- Use, maintain, and improve document authoring and drafting practices and tools to develop reports, manuals, and drawings with high efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead team to carry out Out‑Year Engineering Requirements for various class of ships including T‑AKE.
- Design and develop fluid systems using design software such as Pipe FLO and spreadsheet calculations.
- Design and develop interfaces between ship systems and new equipment; author and develop design reports to accompany in‑service modifications to ship systems.
- Develop advanced proficiency in 2D drafting practices to improve in‑service modification.
- Required: Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Required: B.S. in Marine Engineering (BSME).
- Required: Minimum five (5) years of hands‑on experience working with ship machinery and systems.
- Required: Experience and proficiency in AutoCAD 2D Shipboard.
- Required: Ability to write concise reports and specifications in English with minimal oversight in MS Word using features such as styles, fields, and references.
- Required: Proven track record in ship design, modification, or maintenance projects.
- Required: Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Required: Ability to work alone on individual projects with minimal supervision and with other engineering disciplines on a team.
- Required: Ability to interface with team members, technical leads, and project managers.
- Required: Ability to review and apply US Navy and/or US commercial ship design requirements, including DOD acquisition, system safety, and testing processes.
- Required: Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Required: Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Desired: Active USCG Coast Guard License 1AE Unlimited Horsepower or Greater.
- Desired: Prior experience working with MSC and/or T ships.
- Desired: Engineering and Technical Authority (E&TA) familiarization training.
- Desired: Working knowledge of maritime regulations, classification society rules, and industry standards to ensure compliance.
- Desired: Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop risk reduction strategies for shipboard systems, emphasizing propulsion, power generation, and mission‑critical equipment.
- Desired: Experience providing technical support for in‑service vessels throughout their lifecycle, leveraging past industrial and operational experience to solve complex engineering challenges.
The proposed salary range for this position is: $63,300 - $129,700
. Pay is influenced by geographic location, federal government contract labor categories, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
